1967 Ford / Oren Pumper

The attached photos were sent in by Randy Higgins. 
The history of the rig is as follows:

Originally purchased by the Fairlawn, VA VFD in 1967. 
Sold to the Simmonsville, VA VFD in 1993 
Bought by Randy on June 27th, 2001

The rig is named "Ralph" after a retired Arlington County (VA) Battalion Chief.

19,000 original miles, 361 V8,  5 speed transmission with  2 speed rear.
750 gpm,  2-stage Waterous pump, and 500 gallon tank.
Original paint and it runs and pumps like new !

Re-lettered to represent Arlington (VA) FD, Engine 2, from the 1967 era.

Randy keeps the rig in a garage specifically built for the rig.

1947 Diamond-T Oren Sedan
Serial # 500A-980

Gallitzin, PA purchased this 500 GPM pumper in 1947. 
It was sold to Waveland, Indiana, in 1953. Roger Birchfield 
purchased the truck from an FMC salesman about 1991. 
The Diamond-T is powered by a Hercules engine and the 
Hale Model "Z" pump is enclosed behind doors. The suction hose 
are mounted inside the fully enclosed hose body while the ladders 
are in the rooftop compartment. It has seating for five. The officer's 
seat folds forward to permit firefighters to sit in the back seat over 
the pump. The "T" has a booster tank (200 gallon) in the rear behind 
the back seat. A window partitions the front from the rear. It has rear 
doors and the hose reel is mounted in the back step. 
The black and white photo was taken in Waveland while 
the "T" was still in service by the author of this article. 
The color photo was shot at an Indiana muster about 
six years ago by Joe Vitti. The truck was featured in the 1995-2 
issue of "Enjine! Enjine!", as Owner's Pride on the back cover.

1947 Diamond T / Oren Pumper

This Diamond T belongs to the Buena Vista Fire Department
2271 Sycamore Ave, Buena Vista, VA   24416. 
It is a 1947 with a 500 gpm pump, a 300 gallon tank, and a 65 ft. ladder. 
It is retired from service but makes special appearances at local events.
